Terms of service

Last updated: 30 June 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Three Ten Labs Pty Ltd ("Sift," "we," "us"), the operator of sifthq.io and the Sift application. By creating an account or using Sift, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

The service

Sift is a personal library tool. You save links, we store and read their content, and we make that content searchable for you, including by answering questions about it with an AI model. Sift is provided as a service that may change, and we may add or remove features over time.

Your account

You need an account to use Sift, created through our authentication provider (Clerk). You are responsible for the activity on your account and for keeping your sign-in secure. You must be at least 16 years old, or the minimum age of digital consent in your country, to use Sift.

You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, that is used unlawfully, or where we are required to do so by law.

Acceptable use

When using Sift, you agree not to:

  • Use the service to break the law or infringe anyone else's rights, including copyright.
  • Save, store, or process content you do not have the right to access.
  • Attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse engineer, or gain unauthorised access to the service or its infrastructure.
  • Resell, sublicense, or provide the service to third parties as if it were your own.
  • Use automated means to access the service other than the app, the browser extension, and the MCP server, or in a way that places an unreasonable load on it.

We do not actively monitor the content you save, but we may remove content or restrict access if we reasonably believe it breaches these terms or the law.

Your content

You own the content you save. We do not claim ownership of your links, the page content we fetch on your behalf, or the saves in your library.

You grant us a limited licence to store, process, and display that content for the sole purpose of operating Sift for you, for example fetching page text, generating summaries and embeddings, and returning search answers. We never use your content to train AI models, never use it to improve any product other than Sift, and never sell or share it. This is set out in full in our privacy policy.

Plans and payment

Sift offers a free plan and a paid Pro plan. The features and prices of each plan are described on our pricing page. We may change prices for future billing periods, and we will give you reasonable notice before a change affects you.

Payments for paid plans are processed by Lemon Squeezy, who acts as our merchant of record. This means Lemon Squeezy is the seller of record for your purchase, handles billing and applicable taxes, and your payment is also subject to Lemon Squeezy's own terms. We do not receive or store your card number or payment details.

Paid subscriptions renew automatically each billing period until cancelled. How to cancel and how refunds work are set out in cancellation and refunds below.

Cancellation and refunds

Sift Pro is billed in advance each billing period (monthly, or yearly if you choose the annual plan) and renews automatically until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from the billing portal, reached through "Manage billing" in your settings, or by emailing us. When you cancel, you keep Pro access until the end of the period you have already paid for and are not billed again. We do not charge a cancellation fee. After Pro access ends your account moves to the free plan; your saves are not deleted, but free-plan limits apply again.

If you are not happy with Sift Pro on the annual plan, contact us within 14 days of the payment and we will refund it in full, no questions asked. Monthly plans can be cancelled at any time and are not billed again; we do not refund partial months. For an unintended renewal, contact us promptly and we will work with you on a refund of that charge. We may decline a refund where there is clear evidence of abuse, for example repeated subscribe-refund cycles. Approved refunds are issued through Lemon Squeezy to your original payment method; how long it takes to appear depends on your bank or card provider.

Nothing here limits the consumer guarantees you have under the Australian Consumer Law or other law that cannot be excluded. To request a refund, email hello@sifthq.io from the address on your account with the date and amount of the charge. We aim to respond within 5 business days.

Intellectual property

Sift, including its name, design, software, and content we create (but not your saved content), belongs to us or our licensors. These terms do not give you any right to use our branding or copy our software except as needed to use the service normally.

Third-party services and content

Sift fetches and links to content from third-party websites and relies on third-party services to operate (listed in our privacy policy). We are not responsible for third-party content or for the availability or accuracy of those external sites and services. AI-generated summaries and answers can be incomplete or wrong, so please do not rely on them for decisions that require certainty without checking the source.

Disclaimers

To the extent permitted by law, Sift is provided without warranties of any kind, and we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error free, or that saved content or search results will always be accurate or available.

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer guarantee, right, or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law or other law that cannot lawfully be excluded. Where our liability for a failure to meet such a guarantee can be limited, it is limited to resupplying the service or paying the cost of resupply.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential loss, or for loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of Sift. Our total liability to you for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the twelve months before the claim arose. Nothing in this section limits rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law.

Termination

You may stop using Sift and close your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you materially breach these terms or use the service unlawfully. If your account is closed, you can ask us to delete your data as described in our privacy policy.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service evolves. If we make a material change, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Continuing to use Sift after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Severability

If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, that part will be limited or removed to the minimum extent necessary, and the rest of these terms will continue to apply.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia, and you and we submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that place. This does not affect any rights you have as a consumer under the laws of the country where you live.
